So EXCITED!!!!!

I know i know.....its been like the longiest time that I've actually update this pathetic blog of mine. Been busy with school...been busy with students....been busy being a busybody....hakz!!!

So, currently me and beau just waiting to pay our caterer the 70% deposit and at the same time choosing the baju that I like...hmmmm...was thinking of having the first baju as white den the second outfit could be a nice simple long dress...I saw the majlis pertunangan of elly mazlein and BOY!! do me like her outfit but hair wise i just think it looks sucky...oh well i've never been the type of minah to have curls as my fringe. That's ewwww...

So what have i been doing all this while....

1) BERKAT: DONE
Got it from King and Kong..hahahhaha What the hell??

No I'm not giving out orang utans or related species as my door gifts. The place is SUPERB okies....only fit for Mak mak Datins... Well i thought so..knowing and seeing the fact that all their stuffs are super duper expensive.

They have a branch at NEX mall but do not have the berkat. So we actually travel to JB to search for the berkat. It is an exquisite Gold Plated Metal Heart Shape Box with a Handle and plus minus the cost is bout SGD 3 plus plus with the inserts. We are going to put those traditional red eggs.

The price scared the SHIT out of me of course but when I saw my Ibu long (My dad's Sister) says she is sponsoring...its a phewwwwwww..... Thanks Ibu...I love u...

2) INVITATION CARD: DONE
Got it from Warisan Ideareka...came to know from one of my friends it is one of the most expensive card designs shops and I do agree but the designs are just so AWESOME and CLASSY.

They have several collections that you can choose from VVIP being the most expensive and Budget ones which im sure I do not need to explain. So as you can guess, the Mummy Datin of mine chooses what?? Yesssss...she chose VVIP ones that cost RM 4 per each pathetic card. But its super nice and not to mention the inserts are of a thick baroque design papers and we have OUR VERY OWN CUSTOM MADE HOT STAMPING NAME!!!*best hingga menggigit jari*

I dun really care if they throw the card away..what do i care...impression on my event comes first..heheee

3) MINI DAIS: DONE
Got it from Cahaya Nanie. First impression makes me love love them. Second thing that got me is their super friendly service. This guy call Reno was like super friendly and give in to our requests and even throw in a red carpet for ME to walk on PRO BONO!!!! And the best part is that I can choose my own flowers and all other nitty gritty details unlike this previous company which i refused to name charges me nearly SGD 600 for a Dais with NO CHAIRS!!! I was so fuming mad...BECAUSE I already paid her a deposit and only found out about Cahaya Nanie few days later but Mom was sweet and help me get my dream dais.

4) ITS NOT HALLOWEEN ANYMORE: :))))))
By writing it's not halloween, I've finally successfully got dear beau to change his mind bout the colour theme. It used to be orange and black which is Amani's signature colour which i think it is really nice if we do it for a wedding but other than that, it gives me the vibe that we're celebrating halloween instead of our engagement ceremony. So we decided, to change it to PINK CREAM AND WHITE...yaaayyy!!! and I got my Secret Garden theme...Im all Smiles Smiles Smilessssssss....Needless to say it was hard work convincing him. But, I have my ways. *grins*

5) TIRAMISU/ CUPCAKE GUBAHAN

As a token of Love and the depletion of my moola$$$$$, I've decided to bake some of the gubahan foodies myself and also create for him a birthday cake. Im so excited about the cake cos i just drop by at IKEA and saw this candle holder which is so perfect to make a 2 tiered cake holder. I plan to make a BIG GIRNORMOUS Rainbow cuppiecake to be placed on the first tier and Tiramisu in Wine glasses which i had just purchased just now at IKEA using Chin Keong's vouchers. Tiramisu in a Wine glass....uhhmm...Sexy or what???? woooohoooo!!!

Other than all this, I guess we should be relatively prepared for the upcoming event. It gives the jitters and nightmares and I do not want to be so excited about it. Old people say you shouldnt be so overly excited. Just keep calm and Insyaallah everything will go smoothly.

But i guess, Im only excited about the part of choosing my outfit. Saw a sneak preview of Amani boutique. It makes me go Gaga seeing that its decorated in Pink. Weee!!!! Im just excited on how i will look like and most of the girls say i should go for a trial make up...oh well...this Money thing make me have break outs and I havent even booked an appointment with my Aesthetics Doctor and knowing that he is always goin to Paris and back makes me even more scared whether i could get him on time. sigh.

One thing that scared me and has been knocking me in the back of my mind is the question of "Am I planning this too grandly just for an Engagement Ceremony?" If I were to ask Darling beau...an arrow would be shooting 360 degrees around me and he would start nagging and lecturing again. But I guess, it's not a matter that i'm trying to show off or anything.

Maybe people or even beau forget to realize that WHAT this Engagement Ceremony day actually means to both of us. It is not only a day of exchanging the rings that will signify our soon to be UNITY. It is a day whereby we are celebrating the sacrifices and tortured times that we had gone through just to keep this relationship a Success. It is a day to say " HEY, WE FINALLY GOT HER DAD'S BLESSINGS!!" It means so much to me that any other things that has happen in my life, for my dad to accept him. This is the day. For all those years, we kept out relationship as low profile as ever, running away so that not to be seen by other people, making up excuses just to see him, enduring all those harsh words and lies that my Dad tries to put in my head to break off with him.

We are celebrating it this way because we finally got the Freedom. We are so proud that we've made it through all this years despite of the troubles, fights, shouts and cries. We nearly made it Babey. This is our last lap before we finally get to exchange our vows...and I love you.
Really I Do.

24.12.2011: Save The DATE.

It's been a long while since I get to type and post any updates online. I tried to but heck busy. But there is FINALLY 1 GOOD NEWS for this Minah to share.

24.12.2011
Save.That.Date.People
Finally after some discussions both party agrees that the Engagement Ceremony will be on the above date. The past few days have been a rollercoaster ride. I was worried bout my parents not agreeing to the date(at first it was 17th and it was a big hoo haa cos it was not a good date). So LUCKILY, 24th December is on the eve of Christmas and it falls on a Saturday which Means Christmas is Sunday and MONDAY IS A HOLIDAY!!! Cool Cool Cool!!!!

At last, we finally got everything settled.

  • CATERER
  • DECOR
  • MAK ANDAM
  • PHOTOGRAPHER
  • GUBAHAN

Phew!!!!

Decided that for my Caterer and Decor people would be the guys from:

Confirmed: Amani Weddings

Nice.

Heard a lot of good reviews for their food and bridal services. So decided to give it a try. Did try to also ask Decorama but I knew nuts about their food and their bridal services so would not want to take the risks.

The decor would be Orange and Black in colour. It definitely looks good in the pictures but I do not know if I would don a Witch Party Hat and we will all be welcome to a Halloween Party instead. So should just Tawakkal and hope everything looks like we desired. It was not my choice anyways. My parents and Him was the ONE who decided and 3:1 is DEFINITELY not worth the argument.

And HIM also promised that it will look UNIQUE unlike any other ceremony which always uses pastel and even though these two combos is my least favourite colours, it somehow represents my character i guess...Vibrant yet Mysterious....Ceyyyy...hahahahha and not to mention that Orange and black is their company Signature colour....so it should be nice per se.

Even for the Bridal services, I will be engaging them.

As for Photographer.....it will be Abg Nazz from Nazz Elmi Photography. Really cant resist not to engage his services as his photos are all so Oooooooh La laaa!! Gorgeous! So luckily he was still available for the date and not to mention that his packages are at an affordable price.

The Proposal.

How did you Proposed again Dear?

I still cant believe it. Do you? Girlfriends are laughing their Asses off after hearing my sadistic proposal.
Now many of you would Dream of having a Man on his knees saying "Will You Marry me?" In my case, my hopes just DASHED near to the Longkang just opposite anak Cik Som house. You see the above picture. You got it. Of all places. Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre was his choice to propose to me. Yes Me! The IT girl! The Love of His LIFE??

In my heart was like come on...was this a freaking joke or a nightmare?!!! Somebody Slap me!! Which I did it self-servicingly 5 minutes after he said the so called "magic" word.

Tell me What happen to the likes of Sunset in Sentosa or or Romancing near any River? At least Yishun Dam will look better than a Pasar..yes?

A true blue Malayan blood I would say. Proud for him to be having Malay stamped on his I/C. Pffft!!!

Well it wasnt any sweet nothings that was hushed to my ears.....Let me re-enact the whole script for ya.

(As I was eating my Pasar Malam Sambal Kway Teow Goreng)

Him: You know what Byy? My friend Aizat ( or Something like that the name cos I was concentrating more on peeling the prawn on my brown paper) he is getting engaged already you know. How about us? I think we should also think about it. We should also get engaged too right? What say you??

Me: *Gulp and I say "Did you just propose to me?"

Him: Yeah...some sort like that.

Me: *Blush. ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BUT WAIT!!! You proposed to me in Pasar Geylang while Im having my early sahur in the month of Ramadhan????!!!!!!

Him: Good what. More berkat. People never do i do larrr. Its good what Geylang Serai. Follow tradition.

Luckily, the stools were attached to the floor if not. Somebody would have been sent to the nearest Hospital. Not that I'm a materialistic bitch but cmon man....why are you doing this to me???

This is the only part in my life that I want it to be magical. romantic. something like what you see in the movies and read in the Sweet Valley High School Novels.Ohh welll....its over and done with. At least if i had known earlier that he would want to propose, I would have emailed him a script. To hell with Integrity and screw the code of cheating. At the very least, I could have heard sweet nothings and for the rest of my life pretend that he said it from the bottom of his heart.

But who's perfect?

I remembered a quote that I chance upon while Googling on the net. It somehow teaches me how not to have over expectations in finding your perfect half. It goes like this,

" If you go all out to find the perfect man, are you a Perfect Woman to begin with?"
- From Dunno Who (Sound something like that  larr)

Stabs you in the heart doesn't it? It got mine too.

What We Have....and the Things that I still Want.

So, lets start with the basics, both of us has finally decide the items we want to be part of the "Tukar Dulang" ceremony or the exchanging of gifts and whatnot. And I found that mine is still so little. Pouts. (Only like 6 trays.Dammit.)

And as I stressed this again to myself that the whole ceremony might not be happening this year due to His certain circumstances.(Why must I always do this to myself and feel such a sinner?)

It is not a Sin to just dream and angan-angan right? I mean, "Hey Dude, I've been dreaming of my own Cinderella Wedding ever since I was 5!! Yes!! 5!! And I've always LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about the wedding minus the MOOLA and just let me dream alright.

So huushhh.....lets get back to the stuff that we've gotten:

#1: RING. (the MOST important of all the important-ness of other things).

*Having a Degree in English Literature and a written lingua franca above, my lecturer wont be so pleased to read this)

And yes....Ladies, We Bought Our Rings at Tiffany and Co. (Yippeee)
Getting OUR rings at Tiffany and Co. was definitely coincidental. We have never ever dreamed that OUR engagement aka rings that we have to wear for the rest of our life will be from the above brand. Wish I could even take a picture or a video of our journey towards the boutique and look at it for life. It was just a normal family outing with Parents and cousins and we chance upon the shop and I say to him. "You wanna try take a look?" An He says Ok. And there it is, we finally got our PERFECT rings. And when other Snoobers saw it and their rings is just from your 'ol neighbourhood Lee Hwa and Taka Jewellery. Well I would definitely show you my FOURTH Finger!!!!

Tiffany. An Every Girl's Dream.

His.

A Timeless 1837 Classic. Only His was in Titanium. Black was nice cos it was PHOTOSHOP-ed.
Hers.
An 1837 Classic Timeless Design Diamond Ring. (He Chose this).

         ______________________________________________

Well I think that should be all for now minus-ing the part whereby I still need to get some stuff for add-ons like the cake and foodie things to be exchange.

Beautiful Delicacies

Almost Loved everything that I saw on Rina Creation Gallery. Doing a free advert for them becos of my good mood today.

Here's the Link:  Rina Creation Gallery

Some samples of the cake which I want:

Since my theme would be ala' Tiffany, I would love a pale shade of turquoise to be added to my delicacy collection.

And not to mention the Traditional  Beautiful Pastries plus all other softies foodie that Grannies can eat.
(Known for its Durability and ability to crack the walls of your house)

Well that should be enough for the day. And speaking of this, it has no end. We haven't even got to the part of which Mak Andam. Photographer. Caterer. Room Designer.Mini Dais Designer. blahh blahh blahhh

#1

Alright so I'm starting a blog again. Randomly on a Terrible Thursday chance upon a bride to be blog and thought to myself..."Hey why not start my own??" 'cos isnt that what Brides to Be supposedly does? So that once u reached your 10th Wedding Anniversary, you will just type the URL and reminisce your days of being a Bride when you are already a mother of two? Then you will start whining to your husband..."You know dear, I miss those days when we are planning for OUR BIG DAY and all the flashbacks runs thru your head and all he could ask would be.."WHERE'S MY DINNER?!!!"

Ohhh well.. that's life and I could foresee stuff not that I'm a Psychic or anything. More like turning into a Psycho perhaps seeing HOW KIDS NOWADAYS ARE BEHAVING AND HOW MY CHILD IN THE FUTURE WILL BE LIKE. Will they turn Emo? Will they Shuffle through their feets till the next door nieghbours yelled?

I dunno. Not Yet. Cos as the blog says I'm just a Babbling Bride starting to babble bout the Perfect DRESS. RING. GUBAHAN HANTARAN COLOUR. WEDDING DAIS. And many many other things that I am still not aware of and this blog is supposedly to keep me sane and include updates of my progression in the Bridal Circle.

And not to mention I'm nowhere near there yet. Cos I'm only supposedly to be ENGAGED in December. But not to mention it's like a crazy preview of the REAL BIG DAY. When your mom wants to invite 300 Guests and your fiance decided to bring 4 Coach Buses of family members. Sigh. I'm just LOST.

For the fact that the ENGAGEMENT will or will not be happening this year. I leave it to the Almighty Allah to decide but I do hope HE Grant this small little teenie weenie wish of mine considering me going to have a Grandaughter or a Grandson very very soon. (and very much  so malu that among my cousin, I am the only one still enjoying the likes of Cafe Del Mar and unmarried) *Gulp.

And NO. I am not a 40 year-old spinster who cant catch the boat filled with wedding bells. Im merely in my mid twenties and the fact that my Niece are itching to get married at a tender age of 21 was never my wish. Well, what can you say.

*Jodoh di tangan Tuhan.*
