Wedding of the Year: Rozita Che Wan & Zain Saidin

Photos credit to www.rotikaya.com
Harlow Lovelies!!! And so, the much anticipated sponsored "Wedding of the Year" that includes the celebrity power couple Rozita Che Wan & Zain Saidin has finally happened. Congrats to them!!!

I have never been a fan of these duo. I got to know them because of the constant drama at Suria Channel and the frequent malaysian magazine that dear momma pushes in my face. All I can say, some people just got it lucky to be sponsored for the event of their life. Us here, are cringing like mad every moment to save money. hahahahaha....Lucky duo!!

Anyhoo, got few shots of their Majlis Berinai outfit from the ever famous malaysian website that features celebrities happenings, www.rotikaya.com. Here are some few shots:

And here are some of the few shots of the power couple during their Nikah session and their reception photos. Photos credited to another awesome possum malaysia's celebrities website www.beautifulnara.com:

I DEFINITELY LOVE the feel of the photos hokay?!! And of cos I would be using it as a reference and tell it to our ever favourite photographer Syarfique from Bliss Photocinema....habes la kau Syarfique oiii!! Hahahhahaha...and not to mention member being one cool chill kinda brudder, I foresee he will just layan kan my ridiculous inspiration. Cos, he and Naz did an AMAZING job with our pre-wedding pictures I tell ya..and I will be uploading it soon of cos!!

So, back to the topic of this Wedding of the Year...I guess that weddings nowadays are truly being waaaaay blown out of proportion. No offense to the celebrities or people who have spent millions or hundreds of thousands on their Big Day. Again it their money...I dont give a damn. But the fact that, weddings are not as normal as it used to be does really creates pressure for the Brides to Be tau tak?!! Especially Malaysian Weddings!! OH MY GAWDDDDDDD!!!!

It makes the wedding scene in singapore like a slapstick comedy hokay?!! It makes me even more sad when Momma buy all those magazines from JB and shove it to my face and I my jawdropped every second longer as I turn the page. Siak ahhh...mana korang dapat duit eh???
Ballroom sebesarnya tidak!! Pakaian sampai 5 figure sums...tsk tsk tsk!! Ini magazine bukan kasi inspiration...it gives me PERSPIRATION!!!!!

Oh well, some people had it good. But at the end of the day, I hold on to the fact that biar majlis tu simple dimple BUT it will last till Eternity. Asalkan, tak kahwin "koboi" and you got the blessings from your parents, itulah yang sewajib-wajibnya yer tuan tuan dan fuan fuan.

And of cos, as Brides to Be, I know there are so many mothaf***ing awesome things to buy and it will tempt you like crazy but ALWAYS hold on to the fact that just buy things that you can actually afford and need and DO NOT buy things using credit cards or loans hokay?!! DANGERRUUUUS!!

One thing for sure, me and Beau we DO NOT BELIEVE IN CREDIT CARDS. We believe in paying everything and anything in cash and if there are online payments to be made, Debit cards sure comes in handy. Therefore, we only spent on what we could afford and Beau definitely teaches me alot about savings and BELIEVE ME ladies, Alhamdullilah, so far in this marriage preparation, I have never felt that I really need to "Ikat Perot" or struggles to save like a mad cow. I have heard stories of BTB[s] who have to forgo their lunches everyday just to save on cash.

And speaking of things that I wanted, just the other day me and Beau were walking past PRADA store at ION Orchard and I stumble on a bag that I really really liked. But knowing the fact that I will need to forgo my 5K plus cash, I decided to give it a miss. Beau saw me looking at the LOVELY Limited Edition piece and asked me how much was it. And when I told him the price, I assumed he would just sprint to the nearest exit but NOPE, like a good boy he didnt. And, I really think that was because he was dutifully trained by Bonda [MIL] who is such an avid shopper on branded goods. Seriously, for a mom she is SUPER COOL.

So, we stepped out of the store and he keeps asking me about the bag and keep bombarding me with questions through out. And I am the kind of person who cant take too much questions, and the next thing I know I BURST INTO TEARS in the middle of that freaking Orchard Road. And I finally blurted out how much I LOVE ADORE SUKA MAHA CINTA with that bag. Being me, I have NEVER EVER asked for people anything. I am the sufferer in silence. Save up and buy on my own type. And of cos, I have never cried for anything that I wanted to buy before.

Anyhoooo, the next thing I know is that we have reached Orchard Central and Beau takes my hand and we U-TURN BACK to ION Orchard hokay people?!!! Seriously, I've no idea what he was up to and then when we reached ION,he told me to go the ladies and touch up. And I was like WTF??? U-turn just to go toilet???? So, when I came out we proceed to the very familiar area around PRADA and I was hyperventilating like mad laaaa.....

I guess u know what happens next....HE BOUGHT ME THE THAT DAMN FREAKING PRADA BAG which I CINTA LIKE MAD [lorrrrr]!!!!!!! Of cos u thought that I would be happy. One second I was and the next, I was like NO! NO! NO! it seriously makes me feel guilty cos he bought it with cold hard cash!! Literally, he withdraw the money dunno when and he pay it. I felt guilty as hell, I tell ya. It's not the first time I cried in front of him and usually I dont get anything except a pat on the head constantly.

And so, on the exterior I am one happy girl but on the other hand, I do make a note to myself not to cry if I EVER wanted anything again. Everyone knows that he "spoilt" me like a one pampered brat everytime.

Of cos, my conclusion to this PRADA fairytale of mine is that NOT everyone will be blessed to have a humongous wedding event like one anak Datuk but when I look closely, I feel so blessed that I have a future husband who works extremely hard and is so smart in saving his moola[s] that he doesnt need to get any sponsorship from whoever to get my Wedding Dreams comes true. And I think, I may include this thoughts in my wedding speech as well. I may not have the wedding of the year but I DO FEEL that I have scored the Perfect Man of a Lifetime.

Thank you my Love.

Till then,

Loved.

Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna

Harlow again Ladies!! Hope many of you are enjoying the nice coooling weather here in Singapore, I do. A nice cuppa coffee plus blabbering on the net keeps me away from the evil temptation to shop anyways. Hahaha...

Anyhooooo, I think it's time for me to talk a lil bit on Henna or Inai as we Malays called. Inai is indeed a significant part in a malay wedding. Initially, I've only wanted to do french manicure similar to the ones I did during my engagement as pictured below. Hmmmm, kan simple and nice and fuss free hands without daun sana sini.

But apparently, apart from my mom who similarly doesnt like Henna as much as me and I believe she will also be heck care dont care whether Im wearing an inai or french manicure segala, I bet the rest of the makcik quarters will have something to say about it. I can even hear their voices in my thoughts, and giving expressions of fatal doom that for some reason I wanted to break the rules and not wear Inai.

So, me and dear momma have decided to still go wearing the inai but MINIMAL INAI designs on my hand at most. Nothing fancy shmancy on the palms either. Just for "syarat" purposes. So, while we are at it, I have decided to make this whole torturing experience a LOT MORE FUN and have a full blast Mehndi Night to it with Bollywood Style.

Since, I will be tortured sleeping with the paste on (I sure hope they have those express inai paste that CAN be washed away after an hour cos the smell turns me off, BIG TIME ), let's make the process FUN instead.

So, the date is set. It will be ONE DAY before our Solemnization date and we are going to do it in the Multi Purpose Hall at the park where I will be having my event on Sunday. Since, the decor will be up by then, why not just have a party in it aye?

And so, I have engaged the good people from Saheli Bridal as the official Henna People for the Mehndi Night. I just loved their designs and how they are able to cater to different people's taste. They are charging me $100 for both hands and feet as we signed up during the previous Wedding Fair at the Singapore Expo. And they are super friendly too!! I loike!!
So here are some of their designs that they uploaded on their AWESOME possum FB page which gives me a lil'bit of inspiration.
These are my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE.

I only like the "CENTRE PART" which has the initials. Cool right?

They dont call me a BabBling! Bride without those little Blings! right?
And now for the legs part......

I guess that's about it for the gorgeous designs by Saheli Bridal. I have also looked up on the internet on the various so much rave about moroccan henna designs and I sure do like the style too. Some example macam gini kalau korang nak tahu...

See how it brings out the Bling!!
This I SUKA! like Mad!

And speaking of Bollywood Blast, might need to recce some Lehenga as well for the Mehndi Night. And lastly, every Mehndi Night wouldnt be complete by this song aye?

Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna Everybody!!!

Till then,

Loved.

Candies & Lollies Stories.

Harlow again people!! Don't mind me, I am just trying to update this blog of mine as much as I can..while I can!!

Anyhoo, remember my post on the different types of edible wedding favours that I was thinking to give our during our Dinner event? If you cant remember or have not read it yet, it is here.

There goes my crazy ideas of giving rainbow cakes in a jar or apples dipped in caramel sauce after getting the murderous glare from my matron of honour. Hahahahha...as nice as it is, it is truly not practical trying to DIY your wedding favors because you aint got not time for it woman!! So, I shall just save these ideas for my future baby shower instead and hopefully the mom[s] wont be inviting the whole village again.

So, me and Beau we decided to go for having Sticky Candies! It has multiple colours in one candy which is a must for me because I am truly a colourful cartoon character straight out of Looney Tunes and because it could have our very own customised names, messages or initials! So, it feels very personalised and truly, which moron doesnt like candy!!! And also because for the fact that the Bestie, gave some very cheesy taglines which she said is a good reflection of what's to come, for example may your love be as sweet as candy forever. SO CHEES-AY!!! But, no doubt it gets to me still...those mushy words.

For those of you who do not have any ideas on what Sticky Candies are because for the fact that you may be living in a turtle shell, it looks like this:

Cool Right???!! I know and it;s super cute too with all the multi colours ring-a-lings around it!! As for Sticky, the last time I asked a 5kg worth of candies will cost you an estimation of SGD250. 5kg could roughly be enough for about 180 pax.

But here is another piece of good news!! I've always thought that Sticky is the only candy store in singapore which serves personalised candies for people but NOPE!!! There are two other companies which are doing the same and miraculously have awesome candies as well. Thanks to one of my darling Bridesmaid Ms. Bash, who is a Candy Junkie and so-called my Candy Ambassador (In-charge of everything that spells candy and dessert) for this whole wedding fiaso. I do not know of any other Brides who might have a Candy Ambassador or Candy I/C BUT HECK YES, I DO!!

This AWESOME POSSUM Bridesmaid of mine, is a very Resourceful person. I dont know how she does it. Maybe a monthly subscription of some super candy magazine every month give her a heads up of what's new in town. So, five minutes ago, she actually texted me TWO other companies that sells the same stuff as Sticky. Price wise, we have yet to know.

They are:

The Malay version of "Hengggg Ah!!" CUTE OR WHAT?

So, LollyTalk branch is at Plaza Singapura if you wanna go and check out their stores. For more pictures or enquiries, do check out their  AWESOME FB page. All the above pictures are credited to Lolly Talk themselves.

This is another company who does personalised candies as well. However, they have yet to update their website and me plus my Bridesmaid made a wasted trip to United Square thinking that their Branch is still there. Hopefully, their branch at Tanjong Pagar is still available. Do give them a call before you head down to their shops people!

Here are some of the candies that they have so far produced:

Do check our their FB page for more awesome possum pictures! Indeed, all the candies looks super yummy and colourful to the moon and back. Oh well, I shall update you again when I drop by these candy stores because I need to proceed with my orders soon.

Anyhoo, hope this YUMMY!! post helps you girls out there to choose the different types of companies who does personalised candies. If you do have any reviews or comments for any of the candy store, do drop me a feedback here or to just say HI!!!

Till then,
Loved.

of Raindrop[s] & ROMM Interview

Been one heck of a rainy season ain't it? Well, I sure do hope that on my Big Day it wont be raining cos we are having it outdoors...please not...please not...

Anyhoo, Harlow again BTB[s]!! Updates updates!! Last Friday, Me, Beau and my Parents took a trip down to ROMM at Fort Canning area for our interview session and also the statutory declaration. In short, to declare that your documents are all correct and you have attended your Marriage preparatory course and they want to see the certificates.

Basically, after you have made registration on the ROMM website, you and your partner plus Wali for the Bride have to make a trip to the ROMM to be interviewed. The questions, I shall tell you later hokay?! *smilez This interview must be done minimum 5 weeks prior to your Solemnization Date. And since, ours will be in the early week of January, the parents plus Beau and me decided to go on last friday.

Also, please look out for their timings especially if you are going on Friday like us, please take the Friday prayers timing into consideration. The opening hours are from 8am to 11am followed by 2.30pm-3.30pm. Jangan korang nak sesuka hati main line up jer eh because the Queue ticket machine follow timing one hokay? It will stubbornly shut off at 11am and be on again at 2.3opm sharp, believed me..I tried!

The plan was to be out of the house by 9am so that we could reach ROMM by 9.30am but sleeping beauty me terdoze off and Beau was calling and texting me way early from morning. Must be he was super anxious or I dont know make him so "sibe-on" cos we are just that so-called "Batam-time" gang to say the least. Hahahaha...

So, there was I waking up late because for one, I cant sleep and two I had anxiety attacks on what the Tok Kadi will ask me the next morning. Cant blame me. I was trying to remember all the Doa or surah that I have learnt hokay?!! Because thanks to my cousin, who said that many of her friends were asked to recite the Surah Verses from Quran. And there I was, Ta-Daaa!! Hyperventilating the whole night through.

After all the prepping, finding the "Right" outfit, debating with my mom that I am NOT WEARING ANY BAJU KURUNG!!, I was finally ready..I wore a long dress with long sleeve outfit which I find that is equally morally upright and not inappropriate in any sense. And please eh korang, when you all visit the ROMM, do wear something that is deemed "SOPAN" and appropriate. Believe me, it was embarassing to see malay woman in their forties or fifties wearing spag straps with black tight leggings walking around ROMM area after they finished the interview. Have some respect for yourself and for the Kadi who is going to be interviewing you.  *Tsk tsk

Anyways, back to the topic, we finally reach ROMM gob-smacked at 11am, and I know we were late like mad!! So, we tried to still go in and who knows we can still get an early queue number and come back to be interviewed first at the next 2.30pm slot. BUT HELL NO, there is no such thing laaa...like what I mentioned when you first came in, you need to go to this pink machines right smack at the information counter and press "Statutory declaration" to get your queue number. So, since the machine decided to also go on break time, we went for our lunch and came back after Beau and Dad finished their Friday Prayers.

So, at about 2.15pm we reached ROMM and only at 2.30pm SHARP, the machine was switched on again and we get our queue number. So, the first part was when your number is being called, you and your fiance will be interviewed together first. The clerk will then ask whether your particulars is correct and they will want to see a copy of of your marriage course prep cert. Please take note that THIS IS NOT THE INTERVIEW YET PEOPLE. It is just to check that the particulars you give are all correct for example your date of solemnization, the venue, the mahr and wedding expenses(hantaran) are correctly stated.

Second, part, your Wali, in this case it's my Dad will be interviewed by the Kadi first. This is not the Kadi that you have picked. This is just the Kadi in-charge who are suppose to check the particulars and ask you the gruelling questions plus be tasked to make sure you take the "pledge". Basically, he only asked my Dad on his name is to be pronounced cos he doesnt have a typical Malay sounding and spelling name and it has always been a problem for me cos everyone thought Im just some Eurasian or an alien trying to invade singapore.

Third, it is the BRIDE'S TURN. So, I was sweating my palms off, my make up, god knows my mascara was not waterproof. I just knock on the door and say "Assalammualaikum, and my heart says please dont ask me to recite any Quran Verse because the only thing I remembered at that point of time was "Doa Makan"!! Believe me, I was hyperventilating. The Kadi was Kadi Karim Ahmad, and the questions he asked was whether:

1) Have I been married before? So, I said no!!
2)Have I been engaged to anyone else before? So, again I said No!
3) He asked me on how to pronounce my Dad's name AGAIN. And I gave him a few variations, which he then gave me a confuse look and I can swear he regret asking me the questions because I "Blabbered" alot when Im nervous.
3) He asked me to check my particulars again such as the Hantaran amount.
4) The "Angkat" sumpah part to declare that all my particulars that have been stated is Correct.

AND THAT IS IT FOR ME PEOPLE!!! Wooooohoooo!!! AKU DA BOLEH KAHWIN!!!!!!!

Mom, was like one nervous parent waiting for the child's PSLE results outside. And when I exit from the room, she was like, "So what did he ask???" and I said the Kadi ask me to recite "Quran Verse" and she asked again, so what did you say??

And I just replied, "I just recite the Doa Makan laaa..that's the only one I can remember"...And she gave me a murderous glare followed by a huge sigh. Mom[s] are just so gullible and when I told her the truth, she nearly whacked me with her 1000 tonne weight handbag. And she say, "Heng ahhhh!!"

Lastly, it was Beau's turn and he came out of the Interview room with a smug smile like a confident Berg as he always was. When I asked what the kadi asked him, he said "biasalah, just the particulars". Hmpppf!! I hate confident people sometimes. They make me look like a shmuck!!

So, that is the story people!! Nothing to be AFRAID OF HOKAY?!! All these recitation of Quran verses are just urban legends like what my Bestie said to me. Unless, korang yang sendiri nak cari pasal pakai tube, hotpants segala gi ROMM tu aku tak tahu la aye? That one, i dont think you kena recite anything but basically korang nyer telinga terus kena laung ngan Azan pakai loud speaker jalan terus!! Hahhahahahah...

Till then,

Loved.
