White as Snow...the Gown story

Ola ladies!!! I guess its been months since I updated this blog. I was being fickle minded along the way..heart's 50 to startup using wordpress and yet another half reminds me this blog could just be awesome as well. In other words, I am a very aesthetic person and I could spend hours days weeks months trying to find the perfect outlook for this blog. It sucks yes...but I tend to have sore eyes if I do continue with that pink colour blog template that I once adore.

And while Im nagging away, today's topic would be, FINDING THAT PERFECT WHITE GOWN!!!

Yes people!!! Finding the perfect dress for your perfect day to fit that not so perfect body..for me laaa i guess. hahahahaha!! Alright, this huge issue came up when my man actually voice out that he prefers me to wear white on our pre-wedding shoot though I have actually spent hundreds on a RED FLUFFY GOWN which I really really thought was cute. And truth to be told, I decided making him happy and another few hundreds would be a wise choice. I'm going to stuck myself with this man forever anyway and I would like to start taking his opinion into account and be nice. For once. Not that I am not nice, I just tend to have my own way most of the time. In short, Aku Stubborn.

There I said it. Happy?

And should ever the mister finds out about his blog, he would do a happy dance knowing that I let my ego down and admit my flaws. Hmppf!!

So back to the topic of the white dress. We have travelled to Tanjong Pagar, Far east plaza, Marina Square and Orchard Rd. Most of the time he was busy so I have to call my minions for help aka my bridesmaid alias ORANG KUAT (s).

Of all the places I have been, Tanjong Pagar do have a nice collection of Bridal Dresses which came with a price enough to buy a prosthetic arm or leg. And I do encounter lots of Bridal shops whom actually do not really entertain both me and my mum. They give us the faces that we just couldnt afford the price on their tags. Being a natural oblivious, I do not care on how people react and I certainly do not give a damn on how they felt about me either. My mission was to get a dress and that is it.

Lastly, we came to a boutique called Di Gio Bridal. Admit that they were one of the nicest service people we have known. It was just heartwarming to be in their shops. They even let me try few dresses which unfortunately didnt suit to my taste. But, in all fairness they do have very nice collection of bridal dresses. So, if you ladies need a dress go to Di Gio Bridal at Tanjong Pagar. I fully recommend it!!! Sorry to say this, but they are one of the better bridal services that didnt look at a Malay mother and daughter and assume we can only pay peanuts. I salute them for that.

And continue on to the story, me and another bestie aka orang kuat of mine alias Ms. Smooth Criminal, was shopping at Orchard Central the other day when we encounter this Bridal Shop. They do have a nice collection, few but yet enough for a girl to pick her choices. I entered the shop and compliment the lady that they have nice collection. And also I asked her whether is it for rental or sale. She actually replied it was only available for Sale. Lets just call this idiot staff Baboona...cos i do not know what is the scientific name for female orang utan or baboons.

This was the conversation:

Me: Nice collection u have here
Baboona: Ya, this one all new

*orang da compliment, kau tak reti cakap Thank you????

Me: Is it for rental or sale?
Baboona: Its only for SALE, we dont do rental. Cos we do not want our brides to wear the same things as other people. Marriage is once so our aim is to make the bride feel more special. We dont see the point in renting out bridal dresses.
If you want to rent out, just go to one of your malay bridal shops. They are very cheap because many people keep using the same thing over and over again.

* Mind you, she said it with so much sarcasm that I felt like taking my mom's biggest periuk at home and ketok kepala dia ngan datuk nenek dia skali!!! Kau maha biadap kaper????

I'm still putting on a straight face and replied:

Me: Ohh,,who designs this dresses and what are the price range?
Baboona: It's our own label and price starts from $500 plus to $1.8k

*hahahahahha!!! There was I thinking kau ada collection dari vera wang ke elie saab ke...skali habok pon tadak la dey!!!! entah entah setakat beli kat taobao jer nak step macam mana nyer sibeh high class collection!!

Me: Oh really?? So you dont even have customised designs for your brides?? That means its just mass produce and people can just wear the same thing??? So u dont have gowns from Vera wang or elie saab or Zuhair murad because that was what I am looking for. I thought that you might have those collections since u speak so highly of your store.

Obviously, true to what you say, I would rather go to my malay bridal services, they can do customisation for us and they also have designer labels, and seriously, ur dresses are so shockingly cheaper so please analyse the bridal market especially the malay industry and assume its cheap!!!!

* she look stunned. Hah!! Amek kau setan!! Kan mulot aku da jadi macam machine gun!! mampos kau!!!

And to top it off.........I added these:

Me: Really sorry, but I cant be purchasing your dresses even if I want to.We do have a reputation you know and furthermore we are inviting ministers from overseas for my ceremony and ceelebrating it at a 5 star renowned hotel. I cant afford to don on a dress that is clearly mass produced and plus no credentials to it.

*baboona still look stunned. And I flip my hair and walk out of the store. Hmpff!! * flips hair

Message of the day.

DONT MESS WITH A BRIDEZILLA.
